AUDIOMETRIC TESTING

Audiometric tests measure a person’s ability to hear different sounds, pitches or frequencies. Testing allows for detection of noise induced hearing loss, one of the leading causes of work-related disorder.

Baseline and periodic testing are required for workers exposed to excessive noise as outlined through Alberta OHS legislation.

Audiometric testing is performed using the SHOEBOX® audiometer, which is the world’s first automated iPad audiometer. It is simply portable and performs diagnostic hearing testing using a modified Hughson-Westlake protocol. It is validated for use outside of a sound booth. SHOEBOX® audiometry meets ANSI and OSHA requirements.
